Project Description

The Brief

Having worked successfully with Sheffield Hallam University to develop a website for their Career Mentoring programme, they asked for our help again. They wanted to develop a similar site for their Staff Mentoring programme. This scheme brings together members of staff who are looking for help with professional development with other staff who want to share their knowledge and skills.

Wordpress 98%
User Experience Design 95%
Face-to-face training 90%

What we did

  • Met with Staff Mentoring scheme co-ordinator, Tracey from the People Development team, and discussed how to develop the new site.
  • Reviewed the Career Mentoring site and explored how to tailor it to the Staff scheme.
  • Streamlined the application process for both mentees and mentors.
  • Developed a step-by-step guide of how to make changes to the site in WordPress.
  • Ran a training session to teach the People Development team how to update and edit the site themselves.

The value

Sheffield Hallam now has a user-friendly site with all the information mentees and mentors need to know about the scheme. The application process is also more streamlined and secure, with a dedicated application form that’s easy to find. And because of our training workshop, the PD team can confidently update the site themselves as the scheme grows.
